Hello all,
Is there a law that grant green card for a person who's been in the States legally for more than 10 years?

Oh Yes there is a law and its called 'VISA BULLETIN'. The law is enforced every month by Lord Charles Oppenheim who is the judge & jury and USCIS being executioner and we all the defendants. Its one of the most fairest law which is primarily base on the country of your birth.

Hi All,
Can we follow up case details only with WAC Receipt from both TSC and NSC.
Any one approved with WAC receipt with PD'2005 and PD'2006 from NSC or TSC.

Do they assume that if you are in 7th year you can use your labor which you used for H1 7th year extension.
what about if i140 is denied on the previous labor and one cannot use that labor any more.
are all these bullet point are "ors" or "ands" does one has to staisfy all three conditions?

They said that 25,000 applications were processed in the final 48 hours before Monday�s deadline. In some cases, security clearances required by the F.B.I. were not entirely completed, immigration officials said. The agency approved some applications �when we were certain the process will be completed very shortly,� Mr. Aytes said."
* The report also indicates that the State Department and the USCIS tend to disagree with each other for the root of the problem for the current fiasco. Earlier there was a report in the Washington Post that the USCIS denied that the USCIS worked ceaselessly and frantically during the weekends (two days) before July 1, but it has been admitted since then the employees indeed worked hard during the two days. According to the NY Times report, during the weekend alone, they approved 25,000 I-485 backlog applications.
* We are afraid that the alleged admission of approval of I-485 application before completion of the security clearance is likely to face the legal challenge for violation of the rules which is likely one of the main claims of the AILF lawsuit as well as the political backfire as an issue of security lapse relating to the homeland security. Hi Folks, I have few questions regarding opening NRE account...
1. Seems most of the banks offer NRE account for NRIs. In general, which bank is better for opening such an account?:confused:
2. Do all the banks which offer NRE accounts offer account services irrespective of which branch I open the account at? e.g., if I open an NRE account say in delhi, can I have access to and get service for the account say in bangalore? Or do I have to go to that particular branch where I opened the account? In this regard, which bank is better?
3. Which bank generally gives better exchange rates?
4. Any pros or cons in opening the NRE account at one bank vs. the other?

I will only answer # 2, the rest depends upon where you live.
for #2, I hope they are not yet that flexible and allow people to withdraw funds from any branch. The situation in India is not as secure as you see here. What kind of ID will you show if you want to withdraw from other branch? drivers lisence? I am not sure whether that is very secure yet in India. I would suggest to not even have an online access to your accounts and also insist on personal contact with the manager so he/she is aware of how you manage your account. Always try to do banking at only one branch in India. Not to scare you but it is safer. Hackers are not yet very rampant but if it happens then it will be very difficult to trace lost money.
I do have NRE/NRO accounts and none of them have online access. However the manager regularly sends me a statement in text format via email. Also for NRO accounts they issue statements which can be used for filing the income tax in India (make sure you do that). The manage asked whether I need online access and I declined.
If you need higher interest rates on your deposit open a NRO (fixed deposit) account. Your interest (after taxation) is fully repatriable to the US but the principal amount cannot be repatriated. The is useful if you want to do a long term deposit instead of real estate / share markets etc.

both the parties have decided not to touch immigration at all this year (till elections) they have decided against any increase in any numbers (h1b's, GC's) etc, so much so that the senate are requesting chertoff (homeland security secretary) to increase the OPT time for international student to 2.5 years so they can temp overide the h1b jam.

How do you know that your 485 was approved even if NC was pending? Does your GC - physical card or the approval notice/emails - indicate that your approval is contingent on NC?
The day before my approval email I spoke to an IO at NSC using POJ method. They said, my case has been assigned to an officer. when i asked my name check status, she said, 180 day rule you don't have to worry.

We recd. our 485 approval last week and recd. the cards in the mail earlier this week. We were interviewed at the local USCIS for our 485's, 2 weeks ago. It went really smooth and case was approved the same day as the interview.
I would like to whole-heartedly thank IV core and all IV members. This site has been an amazing resource of information & support for us thru our journey. I became a IV member during the July 2007 fiasco. We were there at the IV rally in DC in Sept 2007, have attended local chapter meetings. We will continue to support IV in it's mission.

Thanks So Much Ann, That gives me direction and what to request my employer when I talk to them later this afternoon.
I have one more question? When I spoke with USCIS and opened the inquiry in dec 2010. why did they come up with " RFE resposne not received till todate?" Do you think thye just checked the online status and responded back. My lawyer says that they spoke with someone at Texas service center and they told them that they have received the response. No wonder there's a lot of pent up anger and frustration.:mad:
Want to know how I feel like- I'm standing in a line for over five years through rain, storm hail and wind (i mean layoffs, company shutdowns, M&A, bad economy, etc), and still haven't come to the counter. The wait is endless....imagine how many Americans would tolerate a 5 year+ wait!!
Waiting for over 5 years for the damn green card and still no end in sight.
No wonder there's a lot of pent up anger and frustration.:mad:

my dad is a green card holder and a pernanent resident of US
me my mom and my younger bro were applied by my dad in E3 category.
abt two years ago we recieved a letter from DELHI-US EMBASSY abt some instructions abt visa. and at end there were names of travelling applicants and those were me , my mom and my brother.
now the Priority dates became current in june and we got a letter abt visa appointment and there were only two travelling applicants ( my mom and my brother)
my name was not there for interview.
on the day of interview i went with my family.
they took interview of my mom and bro and said everything is ok.
i was also there in waiting room and only i was allowed to talk and ask the officer at enquire
consular officer give my mom a notoce to present I140 and I824 approval notices. and they returned the passports of my mom and bro and told us to submit each applicant passport with the original approval notices.
i asked at lady at enquire that why they returned the passports?
and she replied that its all because my age problem and also they want to issue visa to all of us at same time.
so after u present the approval notice they will think and decide if i can be able to get visa or not.
then we have again submitted and also i submillted my passport with their.
can anybody help me and tell me wots gonna happen???
i cant wait of their responce.

Our dates were current near Nov 2005 but again they changed the dates and it became un current.
